About us

Scone Equestrian operates from the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, situated in the heart of Australia’s horse capital, the property is ideally suited to equestrian activity of all kinds.  Owned and operated by Allan and Robyn Boyle, Scone Equestrian caters for all skill levels and ages and offers tuition in riding and vaulting.   Under the experienced eye of Robyn Boyle, EA NCAS L1 General & L1 Vaulting, your riding training will be conducted on the professionally constructed dressage arena on either your own horse or mounted on one of the tried and true horses from Scone Equestrian.  Each horse has been carefully selected by Allan and Robyn and extensively tested by at least one of their five sons who all enjoy many equestrian disciplines.

Allan was raised in the Upper Hunter and has been involved with horses all his life.   He rode and competed at Pony Club for many years before moving to riding racehorses for his parents who always had Thoroughbreds in work for as long as Allan can remember.  Allan attained his trainer’s license at an early age and has broken in many Thoroughbreds which he has gone on to race with many successes on country and provincial tracks for his family and clients.  Allan has a Certificate IV in workplace training.

Robyn was raised in Sydney where she learnt to ride with Pearl Batchelor at Tall Timbers.  Robyn’s breadth of experience from all facets of her life, include many achievements during her 5 years as an officer with the NSW Mounted Police. Robyn  has had many years with Pony Club NSW, worked at Riding for the Disabled as a volunteer, and evented to two star level.  In addition she has experience at a high level sport, Yacht racing.  Robyn has extensive experience racing inshore and offshore, including 4 Sydney to Hobart Yacht races, as both navigator, helmsman and sail trimmer.   Robyn now brings all of this experience combined with her training as an equestrian coach to your next riding lesson; ensuring that it will be tailored to your needs in a motivating and safe environment.

“Our aim at Scone Equestrian is to give riders a safe and rewarding equestrian experience developing balance, coordination, core strength and confidence which are necessary for attaining riding competency".  We utilise an integration of traditional riding methods and age appropriate activities including vaulting exercises (objectives/techniques). Robyn caters for all levels of ability having worked with riders with a disability as a volunteer with Riding for Disabled Association through to aspiring elite competitiors in several equestrian disciplines.

Not all riders want to be Olympians, riding has multiple benefits which go beyond time in the saddle.  Increased fitness, building confidence and improving self esteem are but a few of the benefits riders gain as they increase their equestrian skills.
